SMPN 1 Lamongan is the oldest Junior High School in Lamongan. It was established in 1957. Geographically, the location of the school is very strategic. Although it is in downtown area, exactly at 18 Jl. Ki Sarmidi Mangunsarkara Lamongan, the atmosphere of school environment is so quiet and peace that It’s very good for place of education.

Year after year, supported by all stakeholders, SMPN 1 Lamongan is really on the right track to develop to be the most favorite  Junior High School in Lamongan Regency. Being lead by Mr. Drs.H.Khoirul Anam,M.Pd. since 2011, many bottoms up and progresses for all school components are set up to fulfill SBI qualifications. For example, 8 Standards of National Education are developed toward international Standard and many others, also carrying out School to School Partnership Program (Sister School Program) with Lawrence Township Schools,  Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. This program has been carried out since 2009.

Hopefully, through partnership with other RSBI, some Universities : UNESA, UM, and ITS, and excellent schools from other OECD countries as sister schools, all programs of RSBI at SMPN 1 Lamongan can run well, all students can grow and flourish intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially as well.

By referring the vision of SBI : to realize “insan  kamil” who has competence to compete and collaborate globally, SMPN 1 Lamongan, the first school being promoted as International Standard School Pilot (RSBI) in Lamongan Regency, commits to have high expectations, high achievement and high quality of education for all students to gain this goal.
